Da Mouse is at Walt Disney World this weekend and we thought you should come along too! So we’ve taken photos of New Fantasyland that take you there and puts you right in the midst of the feverish construction pace of Storybook Circus and of course the other exciting new attractions such as the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. As much as we’d love to tell you about everything we saw we know you want to see it with your own eyes. So hurry past the break as we take you over the construction wall of a Fantasyland project filled with magical designs coming to life.
Make sure to click through the images for the Higher-Res Versions!
Making our way through Fantasyland, we can already see the towering crane telling us of things to come.
This crane is being used to build the foundation for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Coaster.
Ahh Castle Wall, I’ve missed you so. And you’ve grown soo much since I saw you just a little over a week ago!
Making our way back as usual to take pictures from this angle…but what do we have here?
Why yes! It’s the New Fantasyland Castle Wall, that was finished in our pictures a couple of weeks back. It has made its public debut to park guests!
And that mean’s we get a much closer look at the lighting sconces of this part of the wall!
Very simple yet they feel like they’ve always been a part of the Magic Kingdom just as it should.
It is incredible how real this “stone” work looks. Just great work by Disney here and a sign of things to come in New Fantasyland.
The roofing additions to the Village Haus are nearly complete at this point, just missing a little touch ups.
I always knew that New Fantasyland was going to be popular 😉
The Castle Wall pedestals provide for great and ample seating near the restrooms here which normally have a ton of people huddled up, waiting for family, without a place to grab a seat. Problem solved.
Now if we could just see over these walls 😉 (Hint: You are going to want to click on these images for the Higher Res Versions!)
So many details to point out in this part of the New Fantasyland forest that it’s tough choosing a place to begin.
How about the beautiful bridge that we saw previously in the Enchanted Tales with Belle Concept Art? Again notice the beautiful “stone” work and there are details left to be placed yet!
Enchanted Tales with Belle has already seen some of its painting work and the building is really far along as you will see in the pictures to come, oh yeah we have more!
But first we go over the wall to bring you a look at the ever growing Castle Walls!
The Castle Wall Spire continues its construction and I can’t wait to see the other sections when they begin to rise.
I still remember when about a month ago only one of these detailed Castle Wall ornaments were installed. So exciting to see now that more are in place. I’m a Castle Wall nerd but I really do believe it will do wonders for the look of the area.
This one’s blurry but you can still see the progress of clearing out the remaining infrastructure for Dumbo and this image again points out just how much depth and space these attractions will give New Fantasyland. Something that has been difficult to gauge with previous photos of New Fantasyland.
Bonjour! Village Gifts is beginning to look magnificent. The detailed arches around the windows and the chimney stack are all adding to the appeal of this French village building.
Beast’s Castle continues to look better and better as we see the other elements around it built out. The forced perspective elements will certainly add to the aura of the Beast Castle View. Make sure to click on this photo as you can see tons of details ranging from the installation of the Windows on Enchanted Tales with Belle, to the awesome look of the planters near the pathways in New Fantasyland.
The chimney stacks have been painted, the windows installed. I love the tapered look of the roofs.
Wow! You can really get a feel for this now! In speaking with Disney Imagineers at the D23 Expo one point they constantly made is that you will get these amazing views around every turn in New Fantasyland. It’s kinda easy now to see what they mean.
Your eyes will bounce along from one focal point to the next as the story of New Fantasyland builds as you make your way deeper into the forest.
Here is a close-up of those planters I mentioned earlier. A very intricate design.
Beast’s Castle Rock Work has taken a long time to emerge from the scaffolding but you can see the detail that goes into the painting of the concrete rocks. When the scaffolding is removed it looks incredible with all the shades of grey and of course the snow on top.
Our first glimpse at the entry archways…a better look in just a moment.
Dining inside Beast’s Castle should be something to remember.
The arches have a grand feel to them.
Ok, now it’s time to talk about another Castle!
Prince Eric’s Castle might steal the New Fantasyland Castle show because it is flat out awesome looking!
Each layer of theming at Prince Eric’s Castle is just incredible! The rock work, the colors and now the castle towers!
