Disney Springs construction has caused quite a few interruptions at Downtown Disney including the temporary closing of the Marketplace’s boat dock in order to make way for the Disney Springs Marketplace bridge and new Marketplace boat dock that would one day connect Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa to Disney Springs Marketplace. That day has since arrived and with it a new era of Disney Springs refinement continues to rain down on Downtown Disney. No longer just a secluded afterthought wedged between two restaurants, the new Marketplace boat dock is a bold feature of the new Downtown Disney soon to be Disney Springs and provides a welcoming richness to this important transportation hub. Because “getting there” at Walt Disney World is always part of the fun.
The new bridge creates a more direct path into Downtown Disney for guests staying at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort who’d otherwise have to walk a quite a bit further around the waterway. Now they can traverse a beautiful dark-stained wood planked bridge with relatively ornate lamp fixtures and Disney music-filled speakers throughout. But all Downtown Disney Marketplace guests will enjoy the convenience of the pleasant cruise across the spring towards Pleasure Island and West Side or the voyage to and from Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside resorts. You can take to the waters on either route every day beginning at 10:30 a.m. through long after night has fallen 11:30 p.m. with boarding taking place approximately every twenty minutes. This is but the next step in the Disney Springs transformation and you can expect many more that will shape Downtown Disney into a larger, more interconnected retail destination.
