We are beginning to see the fruits of the Magic Kingdom’s “hub” transformation as more and more areas are completed setting the stage for even more changes in the year ahead. This past weekend, the Partners Statue was revealed once again after having been enclosed behind construction walls as the changes to half of this area of the Magic Kingdom’s Central Plaza were underway. The newly revealed area mirrors nicely with what we’ve seen so far including new beautiful pavement lined with gardens surrounded by premium brown-steel fencing.
We don’t expect the Partners Statue to remain uncovered for long as the portion in front of the statue needs to be reworked and will likely mean that the statue depicting Walter Elias Disney and Mickey Mouse standing hand in hand, will once again find itself behind the protection of construction walls. It is a process right now at the Magic Kingdom’s hub that Disney feels will eventually be for the best once all the construction dust has settled and a new expanded Magic Kingdom “hub” takes hold. We are still a long way from that moment but at least for now we get to smile and show our respect alongside Walt and Mickey at the kingdom of magic.
