Soccer is only growing in popularity in the United States of America and more locally in Orlando, you could say its booming. At Disney, soccer has begun to show its influence with the Epcot theme park getting into the act by showing the 2014 FIFA World Cup games and with the opening of the third-party United World Soccer at Downtown Disney West Side. The latter’s lease only took it through early 2015 and its spot got overtaken by the incredibly popular Marvel merchandise store, Super Hero Headquarters. But in just about a month’s time, fans of soccer can reunite with United World Soccer’s new Downtown Disney West Side locale between, Sunglass Icon by Sunglass Hut and Sosa Family Cigar Company.
If you want to get a sense for what you can expect at this new store, you can check out our extensive look at their previous opening at Downtown Disney. But if you can’t wait to get your hands on soccer merchandise whilst at Walt Disney World, United World Soccer has a temporary retail truck set up just behind Cirque du Soleil. Being a fan of sports, watching sporting events and even participating in them is a giant part of the Walt Disney World culture and it seems especially fitting with the Walt Disney Company’s ownership of ESPN. This store at Downtown Disney is but the latest example of ways sports fans can continue their fandom even in the house of mouse.
