New Memories in Disney: Part 5

In Part 5 of our journey we find New Memories in Disney in some often overlooked spots.  We step inside the Magic Kingdom’s Firehouse, venture to see progress on Fantasyland construction, along with many other surprises. It should be an enjoyable end to this wonderful trip.

Engine Co. 71 - Firehouse Gift Station
If you have never been inside, then I think these next few photos and the next time you visit the MK and enter this store will be a treat.
I mean sure you could easily walk into the store and think of it as just another gift shop until your realize there is just something more to this one. Notice the fire-pole and patches...
You see this store is a tribute to those brave men and women (and their four-legged companions) who serve our people courageously every day.
And so we must honor them in any way we can and Disney does it in the Magic Kingdom by showing their donated badges here...
here...
...and here.
I hope this inspires you to find a way to show your appreciation in your own way. Remember no good deed ever truly goes unnoticed.
The patches gave me goosebumps and all the while a sense of pride but to see the craft in a time-stamped way as on display in this image really gives one a deeper sense of the hard work and history behind it all.
We often take the simplest things for granted...
Walt Disney World Fire Department
A little Disney Romance playing just in time for Valentines...
Inside another art of Disney Store...
A peek inside Uptown Jewelers...
And who do we have here?
Its Jedi Mickey! He wants to remind you that Star Wars Weekends kicks off May 20th and sees the opening off the new Star Tours II attraction at Disney Hollywood Studios.
Come on you know you had the telephone...
Are you starting to see a pattern here?
There can only be one Captain Mickey Sparrow!
By now you should know where this is...
Isn't the side street lovely? See, I told you.
Looks Like its Castle ShowTime!
Yup Mickey and the whole gang...
It's a great big beautiful Celebration...
Wow Mickey is as tiny as a mouse...
...there, that's better. Now all we need is...
...oh yeah I almost forgot, fireworks!
Ahh Adventureland, the land of, of, of well you know...adventure.
And the Jungle Cruise...

Sorry to skip lands like that on you but we met up with some friends who have kids and well that means Fantasyland time!
Fantasyland with Peter Pan, and...
and everybody's favorite reptile...and...
...and this will soon be an impressive structure with waterfalls. It will be home to the Little Mermaid's Under-the-sea dark-ride adventure.
Sure its only Concrete & Steel now but you just wait because you are looking at Belle's Cottage and Beast's Castle with a sit down restaurant in the middle of the famous ballroom.
This is new! NEW FANTASYLAND Coming Soon! I will give you all the details soon.
Tomorrowland is cool by the day but everyone knows...
At night Tomorrowland Rocks!

Star Command! Come in Star Command!
Time for a spin...videos coming soon.
There is something special at the Castle Tonight...Hint: It's not just Wishes!
Stay tuned for some video of an unbelievable new show at the castle.

Now the Morning of Day 3…

Very good friends invited us to Chef Mickey's...
Time for a Column Close-Up
Even in 2011 it's still cool to see Monorail Blue flying by in the Contemporary.
If you are going to do art...do it big.

Everyone's Favorite Mouse is everywhere...
...but of course Mickey isn't the only star chef...
View from Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary Resort
Hey Its Chef Mickey! Well what do you know 😉 Chef Mickey's food is good but its the fun you and your kids will have interacting with the characters that is priceless.
Speaking about the food...
As you can see its buffet style...
And where else will Donald Duck serve your food? No Donald doesn't serve your food but that would be quite hilarious if you ask me.
There is a lot of variety including this cereal station.
Well it was another great trip and I hope you've enjoyed sharing it with me but now I have to take the Monorail back to the MIA.

Hope you have enjoyed this trip report stay tuned for so much more from the world of Disney coming soon!
