The Cathedral of Magic: My First Trip to Disneyland Part 6

Growing up with a love for all things Disney, as I and many others have, it is easy to appreciate the wonder and magic that Walt Disney left on this earth.  It is a vision that so many have invested their lives into, with everything that entails and it becomes clear when you visit the parks just how important that is.  Because of everyone’s dedication to a vision of greatness, we get to set foot into it and be a small part of its history.  It is through that lens that “it’s a small world,” takes us on a voyage that stands on its own as an impressive and masterful work of art but also carries a message.  A message that we all share in part of making this world a happy place.  If you are just joining this trip report (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5) than you have arrived just in time for one of the most special parts because honestly, “it’s a small world at Disneyland theme park is like nothing else you’ve experienced before.  I can say that even having been on the iteration of it in Walt Disney World.  It is spectacular, it is dreamy, it is Disney at its best and now you can take part on the happiest photo cruise that ever sailed.  So click past the break and enjoy this latest chapter of my first trip to Disneyland.

Something tells me this isn't the small world I grew up with!
I mean just look at this!
As if it's a small world wasn't enough they project The Magic, The Memories and You! onto its walls!!!!
As if it's a small world wasn't magical enough...
I mean really this is jaw dropping stuff....
Powerful Projections
This is easily the best shot of I took of this amazing it's a small world overlay.

I love this about it's a small world Disneyland. It just has a classic, even romantic feel to it.

The original Small World Clock Tower...
...and it looks like it is time for some soldiers!
...and a few other friends too.
So cool!

...the Happiest Cruise that Ever Sailed!

I'll be the first to admit, I ride it's a small world in MK nearly every time I visit the Magic Kingdom but it's mainly because it has become a tradition...
...but it's a small world in Disneyland is a marvel! It is spectacular and though its name is small the experience is anything but.
The Scene Design and Lighting Alone is breathtaking and it leaves you in awe of the attraction.

And that is not all because after the most recent renovation it's a small world Disneyland features a healthy dose of Disney Character Magic! Alice in Wonderland!
Cinderelly, Cinderelly!

One thing I took away is that the water channel for the boat is relatively tiny in Disneyland's version allowing for more set pieces to fit inside the scenes creating layer upon layer of wonder.

Hey look up's Mushu!
The Circle of Life never looked so amazing!
Small World Simba & Pumba

It's a Small World of Mexico

The Three Caballeros!
The Little Mermaid looks beautiful as always...
We've Found Nemo, again.

I know some people will say it takes away from the ride to have added Disney characters but for my money, it was tastefully done and add yet another aspect to a truly special Disneyland ride.

Hey it's Sheriff Woody!

Yes, my jaw is on the floor! I mean this is what the finale scene should be on it's a small world and at this point I'm wondering how I'll ever be able to ride the Disney World version again.
The Finale Scene Begins with all-white but color is added in with incredible lighting and it is just wonderful.

One of the best Hidden Mickey's You will ever see! As you can see the light from the bottom onto the doll with balloons creates a silhouette of Mickey Mouse on the roof. Just another must-see on this all-around great attraction.

It's a sunny and happy small world here...

The it's a small world sign at night. I still can't get over how incredible this attraction is. What a great ride to end my first day ever in Disneyland!
But of course our amazing Disneyland night has only begun! Stay tuned for the next part of this trip report that includes Fireworks & Fantasmic!!!
