Back in October of last year we told ya that “big” changes might be in store for Big Thunder Mountain and now we have photos of big-time refurbishment work taking place on seemingly every inch of Big Thunder’s footprint. From the queue, to every shed roof and cavern, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is getting a nice heaping of Disney refurbishment love and we’ve got the photos after the jump to prove it. See ya after the break partner…
Hi there…
…yup that is a ton of scaffolding!
…all sorts of equipment scattered all around the Big Thunder site.
You can see how the set pieces are getting new roofing…
I believe that scaffolding is for major work on the lift-hill…
Light Balloons
It is really a wild wild West now!
Cables running electricity into the caverns and so much more detailing a sizable refurbishment.
Such a friendly bunch…waving a hello to us…
Construction worker throwing a peace sign our way as we chug along nearby on the Walt Disney World Railroad…
Here is another good shot of some of the roofing work taking place all around Big Thunder Mountain.
Tough to see Big Thunder behind construction walls but it definitely needed the refurb time.
Big Thunder Mountain is taking in a little Rock n’ Roller Coaster right now 😉
Hard to see inside but work on the queue is definitely underway…
Will it include next-gen enhancements or any other goodies? Time shall tell…
Not much to see on this end at the moment…
The scaffolding not so much.
Light balloons look curiously at home in the West…
Welders in action…
