Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom continues to progress through its test and adjust period and just yesterday we noticed quite a few changes and enhancements. So click on through the break and see just what finishing touches the imagineers have added to the Magic Kingdom’s latest attraction.
Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom was not testing this past Friday, but we did get a peek into the Firehouse Station…
…and look what has made a triumphant return! The local firehouse badges are back! We were told they would be back but it is still awesome to see this most amazing Disney detail return to the Magic Kingdom. After all, we can’t say thank you enough to all those who serve our nation every day.
When we tested Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, we spoke to those working on the project and were told that there still was many finishing touches left to be added and this is in my opinion a very important one.
For a while temporary logo stickers marked the ground near Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom locations and though I figured it was only temporary…
I’m glad to see that they are getting replaced with a much more beautiful and “permanent” solution befit of the Magic Kingdom. (You can see here where the cuts were made into the ground in order to place a leveled logo plate that you will see in just a few moments).
Main Street Station isn’t the only place where the transition to metal paver logo plates is underway. Here too you can see the cuts in the pavement.
But before we get to the metal plates, what do we have here?!
This is a dramatic change! In our previous look at the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom we mentioned how this specific window was hampered with too much glare and the attempted use of a projection onto a plane of glass was just not resulting in a clear image for the guests as the other Sorcerers’ windows produced. Disney Imagineers have clearly realized this and moved to an LCD panel much like in the other installations of Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, along with blacking out the side window to further block the sunlight making the experience much more effective.
These light poles are new as well and many of the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom locations have seen new lighting additions to improve the ability of the cameras to “read” the spell cards in guest’s hands. While I’m not sure I like the black “poles” or if they will remain black, at first glance I like the ornate nature of the lanterns above them.
And to prove that wishes do come true, the metal plates I hoped would replace the logo stickers have made their debut! This one at the window adjacent to the entrance of Sir Mickey’s.
But the logo plate has made its way to other locations as well…
along with some other new details…
As you can see lighting has been well integrated in a thematic way into this location. It not only serves to help the cameras but spotlight the areas for guests.
Some of the cameras that were left “uncovered” previously are now receiving theming that albeit it simple makes a ton of difference overall.
This little red barn is charming.
These metal logo plates are very detailed and look great.
Time to wrap up this latest Sorcerers Update…
…but not before we show you this beautiful flag near the Sorcerers distribution location in Liberty Square.
