Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is set to deliver some family-sized hotel fun soon and with the Finding Nemo wing the first to open, its exterior is nearly complete. But of course with 45 photos there is more than just fish to munch on here. After all, fish are friends not food. Got it? Ok good, then draw yourself past the break…
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort’s Logo is simple but very nice and colorful.
Only half of the street-facing sign is up but at the pace of work the rest should be done by the middle of next week if not sooner.
A little zoomed in spying of that photo reveals another cool detail of the Finding Nemo wing of the resort. All together now, Mine, Mine, Mine!
Now we take a peak at the Finding Nemo Wing from the opposite side of the construction.
In Disney theming fashion, everything seems to fit perfectly together here…though I’m not a big fan of those lamps.
Hey! Mr. Ray! The giant characters and even the smaller schools of 3D fish on the hotel walls are very cool.
The coral fits right in with its colorful details.
Crush and Dori are totally awesome 😉
Here is a look at the building number theming for the Finding Nemo wing of the resort.
Nice clean font on the directional sign…
Remember you are experiencing this wing of the resort through the eyes and scale of Nemo. That is why Crush is larger than life…
These “coral” facades give a nice 3D effect to the art on the walls of the resort.
It is no Cars Land but it will have to do…
Building next to the Little Mermaid wing’s pool area.
The Little Mermaid wing buildings are starting to receive their drawing pad stair covers…
The animation ripping off the drawing pads and onto the resort is such a novel concept and truly Disney.
Still a ton of work to be done…
From the wave cutouts trimming the roof to the painted wave lines to the wavy steel railings, they all help to sell the idea of Under the Sea but also help to mask the resorts boxiness.
The Lion King section of the resort has gotten its drawing pages too, though they are blank for now.
