Fans of Walt Disney World are searching for the next big thing to come to the resort and with the announcement of Disney Springs and with the rumored Cars Land and Star Wars area expansions added to the mix (that still looks to include Avatar at Animal Kingdom), there is a ton of potential waiting in the wings for what hopefully will become exciting D23 Expo announcements in just a few months. But while there is little more fun than to dream with the many possibilities of future expansions and enhancements we can’t help but want to live in the moment this once because the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train continues to impress its majesty upon us every time we stroll through the heart of the Magic Kingdom.
New Fantasyland isn’t without its flaws but it represents a transcendent shift away from the Fantasyland of old with a new bolder representation of what the fantastic realm of the MK should look and feel like. In fact, the most glaring flaw is symbolized and potentially corrected by the Seven Dwarfs Mine Coaster. For if you can imagine New Fantasyland twenty years from now, when the luster and appeal of the shiny new attractions has been peeled back what is New Fantasyland’s major draw? Certainly as New Fantasyland stands right now the best argument would be for the attraction collective because with the exception of Be Our Guest Restaurant’s dinner nothing in New Fantasyland has the pull of a hallmark staple attraction the likes of a Splash Mountain or any other anchor attraction at Walt Disney World. Just look at the rest of the roster: Enchanted Tales with Belle, Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid, Gaston’s Tavern, Bonjour! Village Gifts. That leaves just one question…
