The countdown to the opening of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Coaster may seem a bit premature but the latest milestone to be achieved at the construction site is a healthy reminder that the attraction and its enormous footprint are one step closer to opening come Spring 2014. Just last week it was reported that the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train had seen its final track pieces set into place. Of course there is a ton more going on at the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train construction site than just track completion and we aren’t exactly shy about showing you every angle of the construction.
There is a ton to see in our latest round of photos, which includes a heavy dose of the nearly completed northern side of the mine hillside (the one facing the Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid attraction). It seems as if this area will open prior to the attraction’s completion and should include a Disney Vacation Club sales spot as per what was described to us by Disney Imagineering two years ago at the D23 Expo.
We also wouldn’t be surprised if some of the area is used as a locale to sell Journey of the Little Mermaid merchandise given its proximity to the ride’s exit and the fact that there is currently no ride specific gift shop for it. But as we wait to see how this area shapes out you can already bask in the glow of the beautiful theming detail already on display in our photos below.
Don’t forget to click-through our photos for higher resolution versions and leave a thought or two. We love hearing from you!
