Festival of the Lion King Triumphantly Returns to Animal Kingdom as Part of Magnificent Harambe Expansion

What some of us consider retro is the latest and greatest for some. A good reminder if subtle.
Strollers of course. Luckily they are pushed mostly out of sight behind trees and vegetation.
The new angles of the Tusker House show off what was already a marvelous looking structure.

This expansion coupled with the changes leading up to it, all come together to feel like this is the way it should always have been. I can’t think of a greater compliment.

Harambe was already some of Animal Kingdom’s best work so you just couldn’t build something of lesser quality next to it. But Disney didn’t just play match with the expansion, it added to the experience and it is the kind of work that leaves a lasting impact on a theme park especially a relatively young one. Logistically the new space allows for guests to flow in different directions when reaching Africa and should pull enough guests away from what is always an overcrowded thoroughfare in the heart of Harambe.

To everyone who had a hand on this project, thank you. Your work is personally appreciated to a degree words just don’t do justice to. I hope that other projects at Walt Disney World can measure up to the level of execution and simple beauty of this refurbishment that turned out to be so much more.
