Disney’s Animal Kingdom is rising like a phoenix into a whole new theme park. Some changes are massive. Others are on a smaller scale but all important as the march to 2017 continues at the park. The latest addition is a new path near Kali River Rapids that snakes around the Howler Monkey exhibit and provides a connector between the land’s two featured attractions (Kali River Rapids and Expedition Everest). The pathway serves to aid in pedestrian traffic flow in the Animal Kingdom land and is part of the overall effort to expand the park’s pathways and increase the footprint of the park to accommodate for the expected surge in attendance that will arrive once the AVATAR-themed expansion opens later this decade.
The pathway though unfinished at this point is already showing its beauty. It features a boardwalk that hugs the Howler Monkey towers that will provide guests with even more opportunities to see these wonderful creatures in action. Animal Kingdom’s theming is almost always superb and even in this small-scale addition this care and love is apparent. With progress on the pathway being at this advanced stage we’d expect it to open in the coming weeks and we’ll be sure to bring you coverage of the finished walkway once it opens to the public.
