Disney Springs may not have been ushered in officially by the Walt Disney Company as it is still a year away from completion but there is no doubt as to the impact that The Landing amongst the other various Disney Springs related openings have had on Downtown Disney. But now rising where once just parking lots stood is Town Center, the heart of the fictional Florida oasis springs turned township. The home to the shopping and retail that will make up the heart and grand entrance to Disney Springs and the final adventure in construction that we are all to witness as concept turns to reality leading into 2016.
Disney has begun to promote the coming areas by posting wonderful concept art that truly highlight the sense of simple beauty and Florida nostalgia that drives the story of Disney Springs. Best of all we get a look at just how the all-new clear water springs will tie into the area providing restaurants riverfront vistas and pedestrians a calming soothing stroll with glimmering waterscapes.
For now Downtown Disney still grasps onto its foothold knowing full well that each passing day brings it closer to the history books. Commutes through the area can remind us of the pains of construction whilst newly opened areas of The Landing give us hope for the rest of Disney Springs. For now though we get lost in the concept art dreaming of Disney’s retail wonderland as it takes root at Walt Disney World.
