If you’ve visited Tomorrowland at Disneyland and Walt Disney World you might have noticed some work is afoot to take Tomorrowland back to a more classic and arguably more timeless look that once adorned both theme parks. We’ve seen Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland march towards a colorful retro-futurism style with the modernization needed so that the arrival of TRON stateside can mesh with the existing land. Disneyland on the other hand has its Tomorrowland future locked away in the halls of Imagineering but today we are getting a glimpse at some of the direction it is taking.
The Disneyland Tomorrowland entrance that already rid itself of the protruding rock formations that for so long corralled us as we entered this world of tomorrow, is now getting a simpler and wider entryway path that will have some visual nods to the original Tomorrowland entryway of years gone by. Small flowerbeds and retro white spires shall sit on either end of this landscape visual. Of course it’s nothing too drastic as most of Project Stardust has involved widening of paths and otherwise almost unnoticeable improvements that seek a better flowing and modernized Disneyland Park. While this change by itself isn’t transformative we can’t wait to see what Walt Disney Imagineering, led by Scott Trowbridge for Disneyland and Disneyland California Adventure has in store for us in this land of new frontiers.
